Hollis Cole Thompson, English faculty member at the University of Arkansas at Hope and Texarkana, will direct an audio drama version of his new play Cosplay Cinderella as part of the Multiverse Funraiser virtual comic con. The play is a favorite fairy tale transported into modern Fandom! Ella is the hard-working costume maker for her professional cosplayer stepsisters. But, when she sneaks into a comic con and meets Samson Lee, the prince of Fandom, her life will change forever! The Funraiser is an annual charitable event that benefits Comic Books for Kids, an organization that provides comic books and toys to hospitalized children. Thompson will also participate in other events, including an author panel to discuss his new book Vivienne, a round table discussion of X-Men and diversity, and a special live episode of his podcast Sunday Morning Superheroes. The Funraiser will take place on January 24th-26th, airing on YouTube and Facebook. Cosplay Cinderella will premiere on January 26th at 5:00 PM.
