UAHT partnered with theĀ Arkansas Construction Education FoundationĀ (ACEF) this year to provide a construction pre-apprenticeship program and Certificate of Proficiency in Construction Technology to high school seniors. The class started tonight with 18 students from Lafayette County High School, Prescott High School, and Spring Hill High School.
High school seniors who complete the one-year program will receive 160 hours of pre-apprenticeship training from ACEF and a CP in Construction Technology (nine credit hours) from UAHT. The program is free of charge and is held on the UA Hope campus. Students also have the potential to earn $500 per semester in the program.
Since 1994, the ACEF has provided quality training to produce a safe, competent, and professional workforce for contractors. Aimed at those who enjoy working with their hands and heads, the foundationās primary goal is to satisfy the ever-growing demand for skilled tradespersons. ACEF has partnered with dozens of employers from around Arkansas. These employers have committed to recruiting and hiring students participating in the pre-apprenticeship after graduation
