ArkDems Press Release: August 18, 2023

Thanks to Bidenomics, nonfarm payroll jobs in Arkansas increased by 27,600 in July, and unemployment is at 2.6%

LITTLE ROCK - Today, Democratic Party of Arkansas Chair Grant Tennille released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Labor announced that unemployment in Arkansas decreased by 0.7% since July 2022:

“Bidenomics continues to deliver for Arkansas, building our economy from the bottom up and middle out. Month after month, Arkansas workers and their families are reaping the benefits of job growth, low unemployment, and falling costs. Governor Sanders and the Republican extremists in the legislature have only stood in the way of this progress. Now they are threatening to reverse Arkansas’s success by eliminating income tax for the ultra-wealthy, robbing the people of the chance to build a better future.

“While Republicans continue to put special interests first, President Biden and Democrats know that the economy works best when it works for everyone, and Arkansans can be confident that they’ll keep fighting to make sure it does.”
