An unknown man was killed while walking on I-49 near Texarkana Saturday evening after being struck by a truck.

According to the Arkansas State Police, the man, who is yet to be identified, was in the right lane of I-49 North at the 39 mile marker at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 11 when a Dodge pickup that was traveling north struck him, resulting in his death. According to the State Police, the driver of the Dodge was unable to avoid the man.

The man was pronounced dead on scene by Miller County Coroner Dakota Bloyd at 7:56 p.m.

Corporal Chris Bussey of the Arkansas State Police is investigating the collision.
