Upcoming private pesticide trainings
For those needing to obtain or renew a private pesticide applicator's license, there are 6 upcoming in-person training opportunities alternating between Hope and Prescott, or you may take the online class anytime at uaex.uada.edu/PAT . Completing this course will allow you to apply for or renew the license needed to purchase restricted use pesticides for your agricultural operation. Homeowners do not need a license to purchase general use products for home or garden.

Upcoming training dates for Hope at the Hempstead County Extension office, 1800 E. 3rd., taught by Kim Rowe:

• Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024 @ 10 a.m.

• Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 @ 6 p.m.

• Friday, April 11, 2025 @ 10 a.m.

Upcoming training dates for Prescott at the Nevada County Extension office, 877 E. Main, taught by Stacey Stone:

• Monday, Jan. 13, 2025 @ 6 p.m.

• Monday, Mar. 10, 2025 @ 1 p.m.

• Monday, May 12, 2025 @ 6 p.m.

The cost of the training is $20, payable by cash or check at the time of training (The license fee is paid separately to AR Dept. of Ag). Please call to reserve your spot: (870) 777-5771 in Hope or (870) 887-2818 in Prescott. In the event of unforeseen rescheduling, you will be notified via phone call or text. You may call either office with questions.
