According to preliminary reports, the 2011 Mazda was traveling Northwest on Rocky Mound Road and attempted to turn left (West) onto East Third Street. The Mazda was struck by the 2011 Ford Escape which had been traveling East on Third Street. On impact, the Mazda spun around and came to a rest facing West.

The driver of the Mazda was transported by Pafford Emergency Medical Services to a Texarkana Hospital. The driver of the Ford Escape was treated by Pafford Emergency Services on scene. The Hope Fire Department personnel were on scene and had to extricate the Mazda driver from the vehicle. No further information is available at this time.
