Urgent Call to Action: Sign the Ballot Initiatives Before July 5th Deadline

LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS — May 30, 2024 — Indivisible Little Rock Central Arkansas is issuing an urgent plea to all registered voters in Arkansas: It is imperative that you sign all the ballot initiative petitions before the fast-approaching deadline of July 5th. These petitions need your support to be included on the ballot, allowing the people of Arkansas to have their voices heard on critical issues. All the petitions require your signature in person, so find your nearest signing event.

In partnership with Verified Arkansas, Indivisible Little Rock Central Arkansas is actively working to gather the necessary signatures for these vital initiatives. This collective effort aims to ensure that Arkansans have the opportunity to vote on key policies that will shape the future of our state.

Why Your Signature Matters

Each of these ballot initiatives represents a crucial aspect of our democracy ensuring access to reproductive rights, education reform, medical marijuana expansion, government transparency, and removing sales and use tax from menstrual products and diapers. Without enough signatures, these issues will not make it on the ballot, effectively silencing the voices of Arkansas voters on matters that impact our daily lives.

Deadline: The deadline to  submit signatures to the Arkansas Secretary of State is July 5th.

  • Participation: Every registered voter in Arkansas has the right and responsibility to participate in this process.
  • Partnerships: Indivisible Little Rock Central Arkansas is partnering with Verified Arkansas and other advocacy groups to ensure comprehensive outreach and support for all the petitions.

Statements from Indivisible Little Rock Central Arkansas and CAPES

"We are at a pivotal moment for our state. The power to bring about change lies in the hands of the voters, but that power can only be exercised if we first get these initiatives on the ballot," said Kat Beattie, organizer and board member of Indivisible Little Rock Central Arkansas. "We urge every registered voter to take action now. Every signature counts and every voice matters." “

Acting Executive Director for CAPES, Veronica McClane said “Signing these petitions will allow the people to vote on these very important issues. You don’t have to vote for the issue, but you should support the people having a say. Sadly, I recall many people asking to sign the veto referendum for the LEARNS Act last summer the few days after the deadline. We came up a few hundred signatures short from our goal. We need every voter to act now to give the people a say. Don’t forget the Arkansas state motto: Regnat Populus (The People Rule). We can only rule if we use our signatures to put issues on the ballot.”
