LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 3, 2024) - More than 12,000 athletes of all ages competed against each other and the elements around Little Rock on Saturday and Sunday for the 22nd running of Little Rock Marathon weekend races. Athletes competed on Saturday in the 5k and 10k races; the Half Marathon and Marathon events were held on Sunday. Little Rock’s youngest athletes – dubbed the Little Rockers – ran the final mile on their marathon journey on the official race course on Saturday

For the first time in the race’s history, Sunday’s start time was pushed from 8:00 am to 6:00 am in anticipation of unseasonably warm and humid temperatures.

As of this writing, all results are still unofficial.

The following are race results and comments from top finishers:

Marathon Overall Male

Trevor Uyemura, 40, Vienna, Va.

Unofficial time: 2:42:58.8

First-time Little Rock Marathon racer Trevor Uyemura has been running, he said, since he was a kid. Uyemura took a break from running for a while and came back. Between the heat and the hills, he said today was not a PR for him. “Today was not the day to go and try to PR. I came to run a good race, and I think I did that.”

Uyemura: “It’s a good course. A little hilly, but I expected that. It was fair, nothing too crazy out there. I felt okay with my run out there. I had to run pretty conservatively early because my training week leading up to here wasn’t ideal. I’ve been

Marathon Overall Female

Abigayle Money, 23, Fayetteville, Ark.

Unofficial time: 2:51:34

Half Marathon Overall Male

Robert Kiss, 26, Fort Smith, Ark.

Unofficial time: 1:15:29.5

Half Marathon Overall Female

Chelsea Smith – 33, Conway, Ark.

Unofficial time: 1:21:20.1

Smith won last year’s Half Marathon, so she’s admittedly familiar with the race and the course. She said she thinks she faster this year than her time last year, but today wasn’t a PR for her either. The weather was better than she thought it would, she said. “It was definitely the warmest and most humid of any race I’ve run in but I have been really blessed to have colder weather in other races I’ve run.”

Smith is a member of the Little Rock Roadrunners Club, and is a passionate advocate for the running community in Central Arkansas. “Anyone can be a runner, and we welcome you,” Smith said.
