Volley Saints Claim Win Over Lady Warriors
Texarkana- It took the Volley Saints 5 sets to overcome the Lady Warriors, but they got the momentum late and secured the victory. GMCS won 25-15, 15-25, 20-25, 25-12, and 15-9. They won the first set rather handily, struggled the 2nd and 3rd set, and turned it on the final two sets to complete the win. This squad is still trying to figure it out, as far as chemistry goes, but a big game from Silbi Jones and a big spark from Brailyn Almand helped lead the Lady Saints to victory. Silbi Jones led the way at the net with 9 kills, 1 block, and also served up 6 aces. Baylee Pogue had 6 aces, 4 kills, and 2 digs as she played a really solid all-around game. Gracy Martin had a team-high 9 aces and 3 kills for GMCS. Brailyn Almand posted 5 kills, 2 aces, and 2 digs for the Volley Saints, as she made the most of her opportunities on Monday night. Katie Holland had 3 aces, Addy Peek had 1 ace and 3 digs, Heaven Garcia had 3 digs, and Savannah Fields had 2 kills and 2 aces. The Volley Saints are back in action on Thursday as they host Taylor.

The JV squad also had a big win on Monday night, as they won in 3 sets and helped complete the sweep of Trinity. Savannah Fields led the way with 4 aces and also added a kill for GMCS. Brailyn Almand and Natalee Chunn each had 3 aces and 2 kills. Madison Faulkner had 2 kills at the net. Raylee Adkison played very well, as she finished with 2 kills, 2 aces, and played really well all over the court. Miley Loe had 4 aces and Kylie Bullock had 2 aces, as she continues to improve and make the most of her opportunities. The JV squad is heading to Cornerstone tonight for a big match.
