Volley Saints Earn Comeback Victory
Magnolia- The Volley Saints were back in action, as they traveled to Magnolia to take on Columbia. GMCS found themselves trailing 2 sets to 1 and came out and dominated the 4th set 25-16 to send the match into the 5th and final set. It was a nail-biter but the Volley Saints came out on top 15-13. Gracy Martin put together 7 aces and 2 kills, while Silbi Jones had 6 aces and 4 kills. Mikayla Fields played a great game as well with 3 aces and 4 kills. Evan Chambless had 3 aces and a kill, while Baylee Pogue and Madison Faulkner each had 2 aces. Great team effort in the comeback win on the road against a really talented CCS team.

The Jr. Saints would also drop the first set and put themselves in a scenario to have to win the 2 final sets to claim victory Monday night. They would win the 2nd set 25-20, to force a final third set. GMCS would pull out the win 18-16 in a crazy final set. Laila Santifer had a great game with 5 aces and 3 kills. Heaven Garcia had 3 aces, Abby Mendoza had 1 ace and 2 kills, while Brailyn Almand and Lexi Crane each had a kill. GMCS will host Cornerstone Tuesday, Jr. game beginning at 4:30 with the Volley Saints to follow.
