GMCS was dominant in pool play, not allow a single set to not go their way, beating Family of Faith, Cornerstone Academy, and Trinity all in straight sets. The Volley Saints would beat Lakewood Academy 25-18 and 25-10 to advance to the semis against Gospel Light.
They would drop a pair of tough sets to Gospel Light as they were eliminated in the semis, displaying a lot of great play throughout the day.
Baylee Pogue and Silbi Jones each had 4 kills against Family of Faith. Katie Holland had a team-high 6 aces in the first game of the day, with Gracie Bullock adding 5 aces. Heaven Garcia had 2 digs, Addy Peek added an ace and a kill, with Abby Mendoza adding an ace.
In game 2 against Cornerstone, Baylee Pogue had 6 aces and 3 kills to lead the way for GMCS, with Silbi Jones, Kynlee Glass, and Addy Peek each adding 5 aces. Jones added 4 kills to lead the way at the net. Heaven Garcia and Gracie Bullock each had 3 digs, Blayklee Glass added a dig. Katie Holland and Abby Mendoza each added 2 aces, and Lexi Crane had 1 ace.
Game 3 saw Silbi Jones post 5 aces and 5 kills. Katie Holland had her second 6-ace game of the day and Heaven Garcia led the team in digs with 4. Blayklee Glass had another good game with 4 aces and 1 kill, followed by Addy Peek and Gracie Bullock each adding 3 aces. Abby Mendoza and Baylee Pogue each had a pair of aces each.
In their matchup with Lakewood Academy, Silbi Jones was a beast at the net with 11 kills. Addy Peek had herself a game with 7 aces, 2 digs, and 1 kill. Heaven Garcia had 4 digs, with Kynlee and Blayklee Glass combining for 5 digs. Baylee Pogue had 3 kills, and Zoe Robertson, Brailyn Almand, and Abby Mendoza each had a kill for GMCS. Gracie Bullock, Katie Holland, Lexi Crane, and Mattie Rogers each contributed aces and digs.
In the semifinal match, Silbi Jones had 5 kills and 3 aces. Gracie Bullock finished the day with a 4 dig performance. Blayklee Glass added 1 kill and an ace, with Baylee Pogue adding an ace and a dig. Addy Peek and Mattie Rogers each added 3 digs, with Katie Holland adding two, and Zoe Robertson having 1 kill.
Great season for the Volley Saints and they earned a good amount of All-Conference and All-State awards. Addy Peek, Baylee Pogue, and Katie Holland all were named All-State. Silbi Jones joined those three with All-Conference awards.
