Tab’s Diner & Store has partnered with Waitr to bring quick delivery of hot food items to customers in the Hope area. Waitr and the Hope Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning at Tab’s to commemorate the occasion.
Kimberly Franklin, a marketing associate with Waitr, as well as Parker Lewis, Waitr’s Southwest Arkansas market success associate, were on hand to answer questions from customers and hand out t-shirts, keychains, and Waitr branded merchandise to those in attendance.
Waitr is relaunching their brand in Hope to let people know that they are still offering services at several different locations. Eight other locations in Hope currently offer Waitr delivery services, including Hiro Hiro, Big Jake’s, Chicken Express, Picket Fence, Sheba’s, Donuts Donuts, Powell’s Grocery, and Hebrews 11:1.
Franklin said that Waitr is currently hiring for delivery drivers. Drivers with Waitr can signup through the app, and set their own schedules. While driving at your own convenience is convenient enough, she said, the app also allows drivers to schedule blocks of time they’re available, which includes a bonus in pay. Also, drivers can sign in and delivery if they’re on the go, as long as there is a restaurant or service nearby partnered with Waitr. In Hope, Lewis said, about 40 people are currently signed up as drivers and they’re looking for more.
Mayor Don Still gave a few words thanking Waitr for what they do and welcoming them to the community, and he and Franklin then cut the ceremonial ribbon at Tab’s. The Waitr crew will be at Big Jake’s later on Thursday doing marketing with customers in the area.
