Walk-On Linebacker Woodard Awarded Scholarship

FAYETTEVILLE - Walk-on linebacker Razorbacks Jackson Woodard has been awarded a scholarship by Arkansas Coach Sam Pittman, it was reported Thursday by Otis Kirk of Pig Trail Nation.

Woodard, a 6-3, 228 third-year sophomore and graduate of Little Rock Christian, lettered in 2021 playing 11 games on special teams and at linebacker and made seven tackles.

He played four games in 2020, the maximum to preserve his freshman status for 2021.

With All-American Grant Morgan and fellow 2021 bonus senior Hayden Henry completing their eligibility following Arkansas’ Outback Bowl victory over Penn State, Woodard is expected to log increased time at either weakside linebacker or middle linebacker  as a reserve linebacker behind returning bonus senior first-team linebacker  Bumper Pool and Drew Sanders, the middle linebacker transferred from the University of Alabama.
