PRESCOTT — Walmart and the Tri-Service Club of Prescott recently made grants/donations to Hamilton Haven.
Hamilton Haven received more than $1,250 through a combination of awards from a Local Community Grant from the Hope Walmart location and Walmart’s Spark Good Round Up donation program.
The Round Up donation program allows those shopping online with Walmart to donate to a nonprofit.
“We appreciate Walmart investing in our community as we continue our mission,” said Hamilton Haven Executive Director Michele Hamilton Rhodes.
Public Relations Coordinator Nathan Tidwell added that this is the fourth year for a Walmart Community Grant award for Hamilton Haven, which opened in 2020 and provides emergency, temporary housing for displaced families and individuals.
“I was on a Spark Good webinar in March where improvements to the grant review process were discussed,” Tidwell said. “It is better for requestors.”
The Tri-Service Club recently donated $300 to Hamilton Haven.
“Our group was glad to help Hamilton Haven,” said Tri-Service Club President Brenda Barham. “Hamilton Haven fulfills a need in our community and has helped several families in their time of need.”
Hamilton Haven and the Tri-Service Club have worked together in the past.
“It is always a pleasure when Tri-Service recognizes various organizations in Prescott that contribute to mutual community success,” Hamilton Haven Administrative Assistant Leslie Hughes said. “Hamilton Haven is thankful and blessed to be a recipient.”
