Arkansas Governor’s School is a four-week summer residential study program for rising senior students which is legislatively funded through the Arkansas Department of Education. The program is conducted on the campus of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and is set for July 5 – Aug. 1.
The program is non-credit but is designed as a unique experience for select Arkansas student leaders. The total immersion setting aids academic seriousness and development of a student’s interests with guest speakers, a film series of intellectual significance and student performances/presentations. Students must be Arkansas residents with junior class status who have demonstrated creativity in academic or creative fields, are above average in their nominated discipline, are highly self-motivated, and demonstrate an intellectual, social and emotional maturity that responds to theoretical and process-related learning
