The Washington Volunteer Fire Department hosted a fish fry on Friday, March 18 as part of the annual Jonquil Festival. The fish was cooked and prepared by the Hope Lions Club. Baked goods made by several local residents were auctioned off to those that attended the fish fry. All funds raised will go to help the Washington Volunteer Fire Department in helping purchase fire safety equipment and supplies to help protect the community of Washington and surrounding area of Hempstead County.
