Did you know that crossover voting is a crime? In short, if you voted in the primary, then for a runoff you must select a ballot from the same party for which you voted in the primary. This offense is a misdemeanor and punishable by jail time and fines. In preparation for the republican runoff for State Representative District 88, Hempstead County Clerk/Election Coordinator Karen Smith joins SWARK.Today's Coffee with the Candidates to explain more about crossover voting, as well as early voting times and days.
