A two vehicle accident claimed the life of one and left another injured on Wednesday morning.

According to the Arkansas State Police incident report, at approximately 9:56am on Wednesday, April 22, a 2010 Honda Civic, driven by Richard Brant Hooks, of Hope, was traveling East on Hwy 174 South and veered left of the center, colliding with a 2017 Ford F-150,  driven by John K. Rutledge, who was traveling west. 

The passenger of the Ford was airlifted to Wadley of Texarkana, Hooks was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. 

The Arkansas State Police, the Hempstead County Sheriffs Department and Pafford Medical Services all responded to the scene. No cause of accident has been issued at this time.
