The Christmas Carol "Joy To The World" says a lot about the real meaning of Christmas.  "Joy to the World, the Lord is come!  Let earth receive her king!"  The first line of the carol is the meaning of Christmas in a nutshell.  The Lord, our King, has come to live on this earth in the same way we do.  Not as a royal noble, or of wealthy heritage, but as a babe born in a lowly manger in a strange town.  On the 3rd Sunday of Advent, December 17th, we will light another candle symbolizing the joy we feel as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This candle reminds us that even in the turmoil and unrest in the world today we can focus on the Joy that Jesus Christ can bring, even in the midst of all the unrest.  My prayer for you and your family is Joy in your hearts.
