The Prescott City Council approved for trucking company Werner Enterprises to enter a lease to use the parking lot behind the garment factory at the monthly council meeting Monday evening.
Werner Enterprises, the fourth largest trucking company in the entire United States based on Nebraska, would be paying the city $3,000 a month to use the parking lot for a "drop yard," which are used for dropping off a loaded trailer.
Firestone Building Products says they have no problem with Werner using the parking lot, according to Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver.
Werner Enterprises has a fleet of 5,000 truck and 15,000 trailers. The lease will start on the 1st of August and will extend to the end of July 2024.
