Winners announced in Watermelon Festival Dog Show

Kelly Bass, one of the judges at the Hope Watermelon Festival Dog Show awards the Best Overall certificate to Lincoln Singleton and her dog J.B.

The Dog Show returned to the Watermelon Festival tonight after a two-year hiatus and dozens of beloved canines were shown across the Cricket Wireless stage once the hour struck 7:00 p.m. The host was K.D. Hicks, Animal Control Officer at the Hope Animal Shelter, one of the event's sponsors alongside Hope For Paws.

Judges were Kyle Hampton, Blevins High senior and frequent volunteer at the Hope Animal Shelter, Shelby Rivard Community Waiver Coordinator at Rainbow of Challenges, Tommy Austin, an Animal Control Officer with the Hope Animal Shelter and Kelly Bass, a Support Services Staffer at ROC who also helped found Hope For Paws.

Best-looking puppy: First Place Lee Posey's Rosey Posey, a Basset Hound; Second Place Whitney Fisher's Loyalty, a Yorkie; Third Place Kenzie Burns' Oakley, a Long-haired Dutch Hound

Best-looking adult: First Place Izzy Haley's Draco; Second Place William Stuart's Drip; Third Place Paisley Singleton with Maxey, a Mini-Australian Shepherd.

Best trick and obedience: First Place Haley Fitch's Penny; Second Place Kelli Fincher's Sable; Third Place Deborah Hines' Bell

Best costume: First Place Kenya DeVinney's Karma; Second Place Camden Collier's Penny; Third Place Kiffinea Talley's Obie

Best overall: Lincoln Singleton's J.B.
