Winter Storm Watch

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch today. What was previously forecast as rain, Wednesday and Thursday's weather has now been modified to include some winter weather for Southwest Arkansas. Stay tuned to SWARK.Today for updates.

WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH
THURSDAY AFTERNOON…

  • WHAT…Heavy wintry mixed precipitation is expected. Total ice accumulations of up to one quarter of an inch will be possible.

  • WHERE…Portions of southwest Arkansas and northeast Texas.

  • WHEN…From late Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon.

  • IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Elevated roadways such as bridges and overpasses will be especially prone to developing slick spots, which could result in black ice and be difficult to detect at night.
