Hempstead County Volunteer Fire Departments invite you to our upcoming show on October 28, 2023 in Fulton.

Most people don't realize that the VFD runs day-to-day operations on money we raise through fundraisers and donations. While we do get some state funding, called Act 833, it's meant for specific improvements in fire departments and can't be used for our everyday needs. That means we can't dip into the Act 833 funds for things like fuel to rush to a house fire.
