Wyatt Accepted into The University of Central Arkansas Schedler Honors College
HOPE/TEXARKANA, AR – May 20, 2024

Kayla Wyatt, a 2024 graduate of Hope Collegiate Academy, was recently accepted into the University of Central Arkansas Schedler Honors College. Applicants to the honors college undergo a rigorous selection process, and only those students the college expects to excel in the program and who it believes are a good fit for its values and mission are accepted. “My acceptance into UCA's honors college fills me with immense gratitude,” Wyatt said. “It's not just a validation of my academic efforts but a testament to the years of hard work, determination, and the many times I almost gave up. This acceptance brings me one step closer to the future I've always envisioned, and I'm filled with unimaginable joy.”

Students accepted into the college receive a stipend of $1,000 per semester, renewable for up to 8 semesters, plus a private room upgrade scholarship for each semester you stay in honors housing, a value of approximately $17,000 over four years.  These scholarships will supplement any academic or performance scholarships awarded by UCA. Membership in the college also gives access to grants for study abroad and research and internship support. “The scholarship I've been awarded from the honors college, along with the private housing upgrade, is a game-changer. It means I can live in Farris Honors Hall with other exceptional students, and most importantly, it gives me the financial freedom to focus solely on my studies without needing a part-time job.”

Kayla attributes her success to the excellent education and support she received at the Hope Collegiate Academy. “I was surrounded by like-minded individuals in the collegiate academy who kept me accountable for my studies,” she said. “I gained many beneficial connections and friends there. Furthermore, having mentors like Dr. Curtis and Mrs. Nix who believed in me, guided me through the application process, and offered their unwavering support throughout was crucial to my success as a student and an honors college candidate.”

Please join us in congratulating Kayla on her extraordinary accomplishment!
