Ballpark in Fair Park now named Jack Williams Memorial Field

Emily Miller, left, throws the first pitch in the newly renamed Jack Williams Memorial Field, which was dedicated Saturday morning.

Jack Williams, as referee and coach, was a strong supporter of youth sports in Hope, Arkansas, who passed away May 7, 2020. Nearly two years later, the Hope City Board voted unanimously to rename one of Fair Park’s baseball fields after him.

The dedication of that field took place April 9 at 9 a.m. with the first pitch of a tournament being thrown by his granddaughter, Emily Miller.

A mayoral proclamation of Jack Williams Day was signed by Hope Mayor Don Still for the occasion.
