Bear Pride on Display at Football Fundraiser

The Spring Hill Bears football teams, cheerleaders and supporters poured in to Chicken Express Tuesday night during a fundraiser put on by the chicken chain.

For two hours, from 6-8 p.m., Chicken Express donated 20% of its sales to the Spring Hill squads. New Head Coach Greg Smith said that he was very grateful for the support the community showed in coming out, packing the drive-thru and filling the parking lot, even spilling into the street, for the entirety of the fundraiser, and for Chicken Express for offering to raise money for the Bears. Coach Smith said that the money will help to pay for equipment for his players for the 2019.

In a statement, franchise owners Austin and Madison Rogers said they are blessed to be in the city of Hope and are thankful to be able to give back to the community and surrounding area through fundraisers like this one.

Coach Smith said they won’t know how much was raised on Tuesday night for a couple weeks but that he is thankful to Chicken Express and to everyone who showed the Bears.
