Bobby Van Caudle

Bobby Van Caudle, age 88, of Bodcaw, Arkansas went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 24, 2022 in his home. He was born December 27, 1933, to the late Austin Van and Irba Lee Boswell Caudle of Bodcaw, Arkansas.

Bobby grew up in the Bodcaw area and attended school where his father, Austin, was teaching. During his high school years, they moved to Taylor, AR, where he met the love of his life, Carmen Elizabeth Norwood. They married February 21, 1954. Soon after he joined the Air Force, he was deployed to serve in Okinawa. Upon his return they lived briefly in San Antonio and began a family with Robert Austin. After a short time in Arlington, TX and Prescott, AR they returned to Bodcaw and began farming. They were blessed with two daughters, Sarah and Melissa. In 1980, he returned to non-farm employment in Camden, AR for 14 years as a senior purchasing officer for what is now Lockheed Martin. Retirement brought him back to the farm, which he enjoyed caring for in his remaining years.

Bobby loved the Lord and His word and loved to teach the young adults and men’s Sunday school classes throughout his years. He loved his church family and served as a deacon of Bodcaw Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Irba Caudle; his sister, Janice Porter, and his precious wife of 63 years, Carmen Norwood Caudle.

He is survived by his son, Robert and wife Stephanie of Eagle River AK; daughters, Sarah Moss and husband Mickey of Rowlett TX, Melissa Wallace and husband Allyn of Conway, AR; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two great-grandchildren expected in June. He is also survived by sisters:  Naomi Butler and husband Clifton; Betty Brown and husband Bro. Joe Brown, all of Bodcaw, AR; sister-in-law Carol Eason of Benton, AR; brother-in-law Kenneth Crain of Monticello, AR; a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00pm March 20, 2022 at Bodcaw Baptist Church. Funeral services to immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., with Bro. Ed Phillips and Bro. Jerry Evans officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.
