Troop 5 Attends Scouting Skills Campout

Troop 5, of Hope, went to the Sitzes Farm at Shover Springs in October to work on their Scout skills and have some fun shooting skeet, fishing and hiking. Donnie Golden brought his smoker and the Scouts had brisket, chicken legquarters, ribs, baked beans, peach cobbler, fried deer steak, gravy, corn on the cob, potatoes, breakfast burritos, homemade donuts, bacon and eggs.

The Scouts had a great time fishing, exploring the farm, shooting skeet, and
a compass instruction course and compass competition that was over a half
mile long. The Scouts were divided into two teams and one barely beat the
other.  The Scouts also did the ax safety course called Paul Bunyan Axman
and completed their local plants and animals requirements.
