Charles Edward Bishop
Mr. Charles Edward Bishop was born May 15, 1945, in Washington, Arkansas to the late Floyd Bishop and Erma Lee Walker. He was called home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2019.
Charles joined First Baptist Church at an early age. He loved the Lord and read his bible daily. He attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in Washington, Arkansas in 1964. He resided in Southern California most of his life before returning home in 2018. Prior to retirement, Charles worked for the Job Corp in Rialto, California and was an entrepreneur in real estate. He was a devoted father, and grandfather to many. He loved to fish, read his bible, travel, and loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Charles leaves to cherish his memories: Mother, Erma Lee Walker, 3 sons, Anthony Charles Bishop of Texarkana, Texas, Tyrone Edward Bishop of New Boston, Texas, Andrew Bishop of Lancaster, California. 7 Daughters: Rosalyn Renae Bishop of Texarkana, Arkansas, Stephanie Bishop Orr (Carl Orr)of Toledo, Ohio, Leticia Bishop Ross (Antonio Ross) of Waxahachie, Texas, Christine Lee Bishop of Texarkana, Texas, Latonia Sherie Bishop of Leary, Texas, Francesca Martin of Lancaster, California, and Victoria Bishop of Lancaster, California. Five Brothers; James (Shirley) Bishop of Texarkana, Texas, Darrel Holmes, Michael Walker, Gregory Walker of Washington, Arkansas.
Adrick Walker of Memphis, Tennessee; Two Sisters, Hazel (Ernest) Fredricks of Texarkana, Texas, and Alberta Walker (Eddie Fitzpatrick) of Flint, Michigan. Twenty-two Grandchildren, and Twenty-one Great Grandchildren and a host of loving nephews, nieces, family and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Bishop; father Floyd Bishop, a sister Betty Jo Bishop-Lard and two loving brothers, John Franklin Bishop and Earnest Holmes.
Visitation will be 12 pm-5 pm Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 168 Payton Road, Texarkana, Texas. Burial will be at Washington Cemetery in Washington. Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
