In an event described by one of the organizers as having the “goal of bringing the community together,” leaders at First Baptist Church in Hope are teaming up with Calvary Baptist Church, also in Hope, to host a community-wide block party scheduled for Sunday, February 24.
Rusty Beck, who is student minister at the First Baptist Church in Hope, said Monday “It is a free event. No charge to the public whatsoever. We will have food, music, bounce houses and games for everyone to enjoy. We invite everyone to come out,” Beck said.
Beck said the block party event will happen Sunday, February 24 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church located at 1301 W. Ave B in Hope.
A flyer that Beck provided said the event will include bounce houses, games, music, and food. Beck said he anticipates a fun event that will be people together in fellowship.
“We have a goal of bringing the community together and hope this is the first of many events of this kind,” Beck said.
