Diamond Hogs look to rebound against ORU tonight

By Nate Allen Sports
FAYETTEVILLE – Perhaps saving their season by stopping at four a losing streak about to come five in the ninth inning of last Friday’s 9-6 15-inning victory over Auburn, the Arkansas Razorbacks return tonight to Baum-Walker Stadium where the losing streak started.
The Razorbacks 23-8, 7-4 in the SEC West, host the Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles, 14-15 of the Summit League at 6:30 tonight.
Arkansas lost the last two of its SEC West series with Ole Miss at Baum, then was embarrassed nonconference, 17-7 by the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans at Baum and lost the game, 6-3, they had led against Auburn in last Friday’s first game of a doubleheader at Auburn, Ala.
The 15-inning victory Friday followed by finishing the Auburn series with an 8-0 victory last Saturday certainly puts the Razorbacks more upbeat coming home to Baum-Walker tonight than when they left it trounced by the Trojans.
Though they hit the road again for a Friday through Sunday SEC against Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn. it seems regaining the home field advantage would be an Arkansas objective tonight against the Golden Eagles with an ex-Razorback coming home.
Hunter “Cowboy” Wilson, a Spiro, Okla. native and utility infielder for Coach Dave Van Horn Razorbacks, hits .304 as a graduate transfer starting for ORU,
Van Horn must juggle his customary midweek pitching plans.
Freshman Patrick Wicklander, the every Tuesday starter, started last weekend at Auburn and presumably is in the weekend rotation against Vanderbilt.
