Downtown Big Sound to light up late spring night at THE HUB.

The look of the staging area at The Hub before tonight’s performances and the street dance.

Many merchants in Hope’s downtown are staying open past 5 p.m. this evening. Just outside the Hope Hempstead Chamber of Commerce Headquarters a karaoke machine was midway through The Beatles “Abbey Road” side one as Southwest Arkansas Arts Council Executive Director worked on a canvas of the view up South Main.

At The Hub could be seen the Klipsch Museum curator Jim Hunter dining with the drummer in Joe Purvis’ LLC Band, Ray Scott, who said the sound check earlier today “in between the deluge” had gone well and that, interesting coincidence, The Beatles might have a song in the set tonight. The band will get started at 7 p.m. or when Klipsch Museum Executive Director Beckie Moore “gives the go sign.”

There should be suspense as to whether she will, since about ten minutes before seven, the sun came out from the clouds, evoking another Beatles tune.
