Farmers Bank Main Branch Closing Friday for Move to New Location

Things are moving one step closer to the Hempstead County Courthouse opening at its new location in the former Farmers Bank & Trust building as the bank has officially announced it will be moving to its newly constructed building this weekend.

According to a release from the company, Farmers Bank & Trust will be closed Friday, June 21 as the process of moving from the current location at 200 E. Third St. to their new building across the street at 201 E. Third St. The new building will open its doors to customers at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 21. The Bank’s two other office locations in Hope, AR at 617 North Hervey and 2103 South Main will be open to serve customers’ needs.

Paul Ball, Farmers Bank & Trust Hope Market President, said, “The new building construction completion is an exciting investment for the Bank in downtown Hope. We invite everyone to stop by our new location to visit and learn more about how we can help you with your financial needs.”

The new building will continue to provide full teller, accounts, loan services, safe deposit boxes, a drive- thru and a notary. In addition, the new location will have a new MyFarmers iTeller Interactive Teller Machine with live teller services from 7am-7pm Monday-Friday and 8am-3pm on Saturday with 24/7 ATM services. The leadership team for the new branch will include Paul Ball, Hope Market President; Cutberto Tenorio, Hope Branch Manager; Pam Gregory, Lead Teller; Janet Choate, Retail Loan Officer; Jacob Jones, Commercial Loan Officer; and Kathleen Minton, Senior Loan Assistant.

The Farmers Bank staff will host the public for a Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting and a Grand Opening Celebration at the new location in July but the exact date has not been set at this time.

The bank has been renting the current location from the county since selling the property to Hempstead County for the location of the Hempstead County Courthouse. In December of 2017, Farmers Bank & Trust finalized an agreement with the Hempstead County Quorum Court to sell its original main bank building in Hope, AR for $1.5 million. Farmers Bank & Trust is transitioning all offices located at the current 200 East Third Street to the new location across the street.
