At 8:36 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding in Texarkana, Arkansas. Between 5 and 8 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include… Texarkana, Magnolia, Hope, De Queen, Ashdown, Nashville, Prescott, Stamps, Waldo, Lewisville, Mineral Springs, Dierks, Horatio, McNeil, Umpire, Fouke, Lockesburg, Bradley, Taylor and Emmet.
Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area.

Instructions: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Dangerous flash flooding is occurring or is imminent. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing flood waters. If you are in an area subject to flooding, move to higher ground now. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.
