Frills, lace and an obvious love for the beat of the music captivated a full house at Hempstead Hall Saturday evening at the annual Danctastics dance recital. It was appropriately themed Fairytales and Nursery Rhymes for a magical evening of tapping and twirling.
It is often a bittersweet occasion as older ones dance through their last performances and make room for new talents. Emotions shone from the eyes of parents and dancers after a long season of practice and preparation for their big night.
The girls went from “Singing in the Rain” to “Walking in Sunshine” and brought an 80’s fav back to life with “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”
Seniors were honored: Tori Grant, Rebecca Still, Axaria Marshall; along with 10 -year dancers: Ryleigh Kretz, Grace Steward, and Shelby Ratcliff; five- year honorees were Mary Benton Wilson, Bella Frazier, Sydnie Booker, Haylee Haynes and Emily Byers.
