Fulton Man Killed in I-30 Crash Undiscovered for Hours

Arkansas State Police are investigating a crash that occurred early in the hours Sunday morning that took the life of a Fulton man who went several hours without being discovered.

According to the Arkansas State Police, Roshton Roberts, 27, of Fulton, AR, was traveling east on I-30 Eastbound around the 25 mile marker at about 12:49 a.m. when he crashed the Lincoln MKZ he was in into the back of a Chevrolet Impala, causing the Lincoln to run off the left side of the road and into the median where it struck a tree.

An Arkansas State Trooper reportedly responded to the crash and made contact with the driver of the Impala but the Lincoln was not located.

At around 10:15 a.m. Pafford EMS, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas DOT Highway Police and the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a crashed car, reportedly around the 25 mile marker. An  ARDOT Officer located the crash in some trees near the emergency vehicle turnaround west of the ARDOT Weight Scales at the 26 mile marker. The vehicle turned out to be the one from the early morning crash and Roberts had apparently been dead for several hours when he was located. The Pafford crew requested Hope Fire Department who sent a truck to extricate Roberts’ body from the vehicle.

Hempstead County Coroner David Peters declared Roberts deceased on scene.

Trooper Robert Neese is investigating the crash.
