Gardner Wanted in Waffle House Shooting

The Texarkana, TX Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect in the shooting of two men early this morning at a Waffle House on N. Stateline Ave in Texarkana.

Calvin Gardner, 30, is a suspect in the shooting which occurred at 3:12 a.m. in the parking lot of the Waffle House in the 5300 block of N. Stateline. The Texarkana Texas PD has warrants for Gardner for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to the TTPD, officers responded to the Waffle House after a call reporting the shooting. They found two men on scene who suffered gunshot wounds. One had been shot in the chest, the other shot in the back and arm. Officers immediately started emergency aid until medical personnel arrived on scene. Both were transported by ambulance to hospital. At last update, one is listed as stable and the other is in critical condition.

The TTPD said that detectives learned that the shooting was a continuation of an altercation that happened in Texarkana, AR shortly before the shooting. The men, including Gardner, reportedly ended up at the Waffle House at the same time and exchanged words and began fighting again. During the altercation, Gardner allegedly pulled a firearm and fired several shots at the two men before leaving, heading south on Stateline in a white Lincoln Navigator.
