Governor Hutchinson proclaims Oct. 18-23 Chamber of Commerce Week

OCTOBER 15, 2021 (Little Rock): Governor Asa Hutchinson has proclaimed Oct. 18 – 22 Chamber of Commerce Week in Arkansas and presented the proclamation to various local and state chamber representatives earlier in the week.

More than 140 local Chambers of Commerce operate in Arkansas, working to advance civic, economic, professional, and cultural life in the state. Chambers in Arkansas and their members provide citizens with a strong business environment that increases employment, retail trade and commerce, and economic growth.

“The support and encouragement of the chambers have led Arkansas businesses through times of many challenges while we navigated the pandemic,” Governor Hutchinson said, “While the challenges are not gone, we look to this week as a time to observe the leadership and ability of our local chambers to continue pushing Arkansas business forward.”

“Local Chambers of Commerce are essential to an area’s overall success,” said Randy Zook, President and CEO of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/AIA.  “They are champions of their business community and serve as a catalyst for growth by fostering a vibrant business environment and providing solutions to local needs.”

Wednesday, October 20th is National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day. Celebrated annually on the third Wednesday of October, Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day is an opportunity to say thanks to an organization that strives to support local business. Numerous chambers have events planned across the state including local government proclamations, open houses, interviews at local radio stations, and social media promotion.
