LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson provided today’s update on Arkansas’s COVID-19 response.
In its Friday update, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 459 new cases; 3,158 active cases; 259 hospitalized, which is down 19 from Thursday; 64 on ventilators, which is down 3 from Thursday; deaths added today, 27, for a total of 5,437; a total of 326,499 cases; 250,150 recoveries; PCR tests, 6,105; antigen tests, 1,030.
The Health Department reported that the top counties for new cases are Pulaski, 59; Benton, 52; Garland, 36; Faulkner, 33; and Washington, 32.
Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:
“Today’s report shows the continued trend of lower new cases, active cases, and hospitalizations from the prior week. We have seen an increase of nearly 110,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses in the past week, and we anticipate this number to continue to climb.”
