Harold Lloyd Bennett, 62, of Hope, Arkansas, passed from this life to his eternal home on October 24, 2021 at home with his beloved wife by his side.
Harold was born on May 6, 1959 to Pete and Polly Bennett in Camden, Arkansas. He was retired from the United States Postal Service since 2015 and a member of Unity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Bennett.
Harold began his 35-year career with the United States Postal Service in 1980 as a clerk. He was very quickly appointed to leadership positions. He served as Postmaster of Hope, AR for 14 years, Postmaster of Texarkana, TX/AR for almost 4 years, and Manager of Post Office Operations in both Arkansas and Texas. Harold served two terms as President of the Hope Baseball Association. He loved his God, his family and friends, and hunting and fishing.
He leaves to treasure and cherish his memory; his wife of 41 years, Karen Bennett, two sons; Brandon Bennett of Ashdown, AR and Blake Bennet and Kimber of Texarkana, TX, three precious granddaughters; Aniston, Chandler, and Mollie Kate Bennett of Texarkana, TX; his mother, Polly Bennett Williams of Camden, AR; his brother, Kenny Bennett and Jo of Texarkana, AR; his sister, Lori Atkins and Billy of Camden, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Funeral services will be October 29th at 2:00 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Hope, AR. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
