Hazel Mae Fredrick

Mrs. Hazel Mae Fredrick was born June 2, 1957 in Washington, Arkansas to George Walker and Erma Lee Walker.  She was called home to be with the Lord on September 28, 2019.

Hazel joined First Baptist Church at an early age.  She attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in Washington, Arkansas in 1975.  She resided in Michigan and later joined Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church.  She was a member there for about 18 years.  She returned home in 2003.  Prior to retirement, she worked as Nursing Assistant.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved shopping, attending church, spending time with family and friends, and traveling with her sister, Alberta.

Preceding her in death are her father, George Walker; brothers, Charles Bishop, John Franklin Bishop, Earnest Holmes; sister, Betty Bishop-Lard; grandparents, C.D. Walker, Emma Jane Walker, Johnnie Morrison and Mamie Morrison.

Hazel leaves to cherish her memories:  husband, Earnest Fredrick of Texarkana, TX; mother, Erma Lee Walker; uncle, Eddie Jean Langston of Washington, Arkansas; one daughter, Tomeko Rochelle Williams (Sherard) of Texarkana, Texas; one son, LaFranklin Carrigan of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Devante Robertson, Sherniyah Williams, Shermiyah Williams of Texarkana, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Taitlyn Robertson of Hope, Arkansas; two sisters, Alberta Walker (Eddie Fitzpatrick) of Flint, Michigan, Marva Joyce Walker of Clay Hill, Arkansas; five brothers, James (Shirley) Bishop of Texarkana, Texas, Darrell Holmes of Texarkana, Texas, Michael Walker of Washington, Arkansas, Gregory Walker of Fulton, Arkansas, Adrick (Lisa) Walker of Munford, Tennessee; special nieces, Collette Taylor, Takieta Booker; special nephews, Christopher Bishop, Alvin Booker, Willie Stewart; special friends, Denise Richardson, Tosha Brown, Cheryl Gamble, Eddie White, Brenda, George Conway; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12pm-5pm Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:30pm Sunday, October 6 at St. Paul CME Church.  Burial will be at Washington Cemetery in Washington.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
