Hope Lions Club Auction a success

By Mark Ross

The Hope Lions Club recently held its 72nd annual Christmas Auction. Lion President Janet Choate addressed the club at their Christmas party following this year’s auction, announcing the auction brought in $38,035.50.

This year’s amount set a Hope Lions Club auction record. Last year’s auction suffered due to Coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

As president, Choate stated it was an honor to announce this year’s total. “Thank you to all the merchants, industries, and individuals who donated items and/or money, the bidders, the auctioneers, and the Hope Evening Lions members who helped make this a huge success,” Choate said.

The auction proceeds go toward the purchase of food baskets for the under privileged in Hempstead County.
