Hope Man Killed After Being Struck by SUV

A Hope man was killed Friday when he was struck by a vehicle while walking on Highway 67 in Miller County.

According to the Arkansas State Police, Rickey Toney, 51, of Hope, was walking in the roadway on Highway 67 at 2:18 a.m. in the early morning hours of Friday, January 1 when he was struck by a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban which was traveling south. Toney was pronounced dead on scene at 4:02 a.m. by Miller County Coroner Dakota Boyd.

Trooper Firdale Young is investigating the crash and no other information is being released by law enforcement until the investigation is complete.
