Hope Melons Heading to the Arkansas State Capitol

Chamber of Commerce

August 24, 2021, Hope, AR

The Hope-Hempstead County Chamber will take Hope melons to the Arkansas State Capitol on Thursday, August 26.  Special thanks to Chuck and Sheila Key for providing the melons. They will also be transporting the melons from Hope to Little Rock.

Hope melons will be sliced and served from 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM.  The chamber will set up outside and be prepared to serve everyone who works in the capitol as long as melons last.  State Representative Danny Watson spearheaded the “melon madness,” so he will be serving melons alongside chamber board members.

Representative Watson stated it best when he said, “The Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce proudly continues the “all juiced up” theme from the recent Hope Watermelon Festival for a bit longer. This time the venue will be the Arkansas State Capitol!  Chamber Director Beckie Moore and Chamber Board Members will converge upon our state capitol to showcase the wonderful hospitality, appreciation, and genuine gratitude to all Legislators and all behind the scene employees who dedicate their lives to serving the public. I am humbled and blessed to just be a small part of this wonderful group who are allowed to serve in these challenging times.”
