David Ward

9:49pm in the 200 block of S. Pine

David Ward, 51, of Texarkana, TX

Phillip Ward, 46, of Hope, AR

Mr. David Ward was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Phillip Ward was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to BAC.

On March 1, 2022 at approximately 9:49pm, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested David Ward, 51, of Texarkana, TX. He was charged with possession of controlled substance methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest occurred in the 200 block of South Pine Street in Hope, AR. Ward was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.


Wednesday, March 2, 2022

12:30pm at the entrance ramp of I-30

Khiry Hart, 31, of Gurdon, AR

Steven Backenstow, 29, of Hot Springs, AR
Mr. Hart and Mr. Backenstow were arrested and charged each with a count of forgery in the 1st degree.

On March 2, 2022 at approximately 12:30pm, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested Khiry Hart, 31, of Gurdon, AR and Steven Backenstow, 29, of Hot Springs, AR. Mr. Hart and Mr. Backenstow were each charged with one count of forgery in the 1st degree. The arrest occurred in the on the entrance ramp to Interstate 30 in Hope, AR. Hart and Backenstow was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.

Juan Garcia

1:30am in the 500 block of S. Spruce

Juan Garcia, 31, of Hope, AR

Jasmine Chapman, 29, of Emmet, AR
Mr. Garcia was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance methamphetamine, forgery in the 1st degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, no signal lamps, 3 counts of delivery of methamphetamine, and served a foreign warrant service. Ms. Chapman was arrested and charged possession of controlled substance marijuana.

On March 3, 2022 at approximately 1:30am, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested Juan Garcia, 31, of Hope, AR. He was charged with possession of controlled substance methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, forgery in the 1st degree, no signal lamps, 3 counts of delivery of methamphetamine, and served a foreign warrant service. The arrest occurred in the 500 block of South Spruce Street in Hope, AR. Garcia was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.

Diyer Mendoza Jr., 19, of Hope, AR

Mr. Mendoza was arrested and charged with domestic battery in the 3rd degree.

4:00am in the 1600 block of W. Ave. D

Nancy Toledano, 28, of Hope, AR

Ms. Toledano was arrested and charged with domestic battery in the 3rd degree.

Katie Johnson

Katie Johnson, 34, of Prescott, AR

Ms. Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance marijuana, and served failure to appear warrant.

On March 4, 2022 at approximately 2:52am, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested Katie Johnson, 34, of Prescott, AR. She was charged with possession of controlled substance methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance marijuana, and served a failure to appear warrant. The arrest occurred in the 300 block of North Main Street in Hope, AR. Johnson was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.

9:30pm in the 700 block of W. Ave. B

A male juvenile of Hope, AR

The male juvenile was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to BAC, no drivers license, disregard traffic control device, and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Sunday, March 6, 2022

8:00pm in the 1600 block of N. Hervey

Arian Bradford, 30, of Hope, AR

Mr. Bradford was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated endangering the welfare of a minor in the 2nd degree, no drivers license, and domestic batter in the 3rd degree.

Crystal Juarez, 21, of Hope, AR

Ms. Juarez was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated drugs, driving left of center, endangering the welfare of minor in the 2nd degree, no drivers license, and served a failure to comply warrant.
