Rolling through Prescott starting at 6:00 p.m. in the wake of sirens from PPD and Nevada County Sheriff’s Office vehicles, the 2025 Nevada County Fair parade was a thing to see, with beauty queens, cheerleading corps, a garden club float, fire engines and antique tractors pulling trailers full of cheery throwers of candy.
The parade Monday evening followed the Saturday two-part County Fair Pageant. The County Fair will be open until Sunday, September 14th and include shows of livestock as well as a carnival that will open Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Those purchasing $20 armbands can ride that evening and, in Saturday’s case, that afternoon as well as that evening. (Two armbands would need to be purchased to ride from 1:00 p.m. to closing at 11:00 p.m.)
While dodging the tossed Starbursts and Now and Laters, capturing photos proved possible, even if the shadows of a September evening added to the challenge. See if your favorite beauty queen, club or fire engine turns up in our gallery.
