Arkansas Democrats Chair Col. Marcus Jones released the following statement:

“The Fisher-Shackelford Dinner is our annual political fundraiser where our Party recognizes outstanding Democratic women. We’re honored and grateful that the former Vice President is coming here to be our keynote speaker. And we sold out the event in just 3 hours after the announcement.

This is a state party event and no campaign has had anything to do with the planning or the selection of our keynote speaker. On the heels of recent losses, the Republican Party of Arkansas is so terrified that they’re simply lying about any candidate or campaign coordinating Kamala Harris’ visit. 

I encourage the media to ask the RPA where they got their information. I’ll tell you where - out of thin air. The Republicans have no such proof, they know they’re lying, and it’s frankly embarrassing.”
