Bauxite Man Found Deceased During ASP Child Exploitation Warrant Service

BAUXITE, Ark. — The Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is investigating the death of a Bauxite man that occurred Thursday morning in Saline County.

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, at approximately 7 a.m., members of the ASP Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force were attempting to serve a search warrant related to an undercover online child exploitation investigation at a residence on Long Leaf Drive in Bauxite.

Before entry was made, task force agents and other law enforcement officers heard a single gunshot from inside the residence. The ASP SWAT Team responded, cleared the residence, and located James Fields, 68, of Bauxite, deceased.

The deceased was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where the manner and cause of death will be determined.
