Bears Great Season Comes to an End Thursday in State Tournament
Palestine- Spring Hill faced off against McCrory in the first round of the State Tournament on Thursday and fell just short of a huge comeback victory, as the tying run was stranded at third base when the final out was recorded in their 4-3 loss to the Jaguars.

McCrory was tough to get anything going offensively against early on, as the Bears did not score until the 6th inning. Spring Hill outhit the Jaguars 7 to 5 and fielded the baseball a bit better as well, committing just one error.

Maddox Dickson and Mason Moore each had 2 hits for Spring Hill. Dickson had an RBI and Moore scored a run. Karson Hamilton ripped a triple and Brady Rhodes smashed a double. Reed Fisher had a single and an RBI.

On the bump for the Bears, Karson Hamilton got the nod and tossed 4 1/3 innings of 5-hit ball, striking out 4 batters. Mason Moore came in relief and pulled a Houdini act and escaped a bases loaded jam with back to back strikeouts.

The Bears continued to show a lot of fight in this one, as they were down 4-0, and just never went away. A lot of grit in this group. Great season to the Bears.
