Genoa- The Hornets began the 2024 season against the Trinity Christian Warriors in Genoa on Saturday. The Jr. High and Sr. High teams both had their season-openers and look really good in their first games. The Jr. Team won 14-0 and Sr. High dropped a tough game 32-8. 

The Jr. Team was led by Wyatt Penny as he had close to 200 yards and 2 TDs to lead the Hornet ground attack. Great team defense to complete the shutout. 

The Sr. High team had some opportunities in their 32-8 loss, but stalled multiple drives inside the 10-yd line. The Hornets also were hurt by multiple penalties throughout the game. Jackson Bonner scored the lone TD for Blevins. 

The Hornets are set to take on Marvel-Elaine on Aug. 30th.
